The 2022 US Open is upon us and Jon Rahm will be out to defend his Major title at The Country Club this weekend.
We’ve had two Majors already this summer with Scottie Scheffler claiming Masters glory in April and Justin Thomas winning the PGA Championship last month.
Now, the US Open will take centre-stage from Brookline as the game’s best go in pursuit of the famous trophy.
Spaniard Rahm claimed his maiden Major title at Torrey Pines last year while Bryson DeChambeau won at Winged Foot the year before.
The US Open is notorious for its long courses, thin fairways and thick rough with the USGA always determined to put on the toughest test in golf.
Another stellar field will tee it up in Massachusetts with the likes of Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa and Brooks Koepka looking for glory.

US Open 2022: The course
The Country Club is one of the oldest courses in the United States having been established in 1882.
It was designed by Willie and Alex Campbell and has recently undergone a Gil Hanse restoration.
It will play to a par 72 and be a maximum of 7,445 yards in length with three Par 3s and three Par 5s.
The last big tournament held at The Country Club was the 2013 US Amateur which England’s Matt Fitzpatrick won.
The last US Open held there was in 1988 when Curtis Strange beat Nick Faldo in a play-off.
US Open 2022: Leaderboard
The leaderboard for the Major will follow after the first day’s play.
Last year, Rahm held off Louis Oosthuizen to claim glory at the South Course at Torrey Pines.
Here’s how the final leaderboard looked:
- 1. Jon Rahm (69-70-72-67 = 278) -6
- 2. Louis Oosthuizen (67-71-70-71 = 279) −5
