Vidal Set to Represent Owls at NCAA Tallahassee Regional

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – After earning the individual medal at the 2022 ASUN Women’s Golf Championship, junior Alizee Vidal will represent the Kennesaw State women’s golf team in the NCAA Division I Tallahassee Regional at Seminole Legacy Golf Course.

Vidal carded a 5-under 211 to earn the championship in April. It marked the first individual tournament victory of her collegiate career.

The three-day event begins Monday, May 9 and lasts through Wednesday, May 11.

Vidal is one of six individual participants in the field along with 12 teams.


Vidal This Season

The junior from Le Gosier, France posted four top 10 finishes this season and seven top 20 finishes in 10 tournaments.

She was second on the team with a 73.96 scoring average, tying the team-lead for most rounds played.

Vidal is the only Owl to record two rounds of 68 or lower, both for 4-under scores at the Palmetto Intercollegiate in October and the ASUN Championship.

Vidal defeated North Florida’s starting five to win the individual crown at the ASUN Championship.

Individuals from Arkansas State, Farleigh Dickinson, Florida Atlantic, Jacksonville State and South Florida join her in Tallahassee.


Owls on the Podium

The Owls earned victories in two tournaments during the regular season. The first coming at the Rio Verde Invitational, where Campbell-Nyman earned her first individual medalist honor. KSU also won the home tournament Pinetree Women’s Collegiate in March. Kil earned her first individual medalist honor as well.

Vidal claimed the individual championship at the 2022 ASUN Women’s Golf Championship, the fourth-straight time an Owl has earned the award.


On the Right Footing

Head coach Erin Thorne started her KSU tenure on the right foot this season, becoming the first head coach in program history to win multiple tournaments in their first year.


Next Tee Time

With a top-two finish at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, Vidal will advance to the 2022 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championships at Grayhawk Golf Course in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The tournament begins Friday, May 20 and lasts through Wednesday, May 25.
