The Minecraft 1.19 release date is finally locked in, with Mojang confirming that The Wild update will be available to download this week.
The June 2022 launch time for the next major blocky expansion has taken a long time to confirm, and fans will be eager to how the new Biomes and Mobs function throughout the altered world.
As usual, some items have not made it into the final package, but that doesn’t mean fans won’t be counting down to when they can install The Wild onto their chosen devices.
Here’s more on when Minecraft: The Wild update will be available to download across PlayStation, Xbox and PC devices.
When Is The Wild Update Coming Out For Minecraft 1.19?
Mojang has confirmed that the Minecraft 1.19 release date has been set for Tuesday, June 7, 2022. Game versions that will be receiving the new Wild Update include the Minecraft: Bedrock Edition on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and Windows – and Minecraft: Java Edition on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
A set release time has not been shared yet but in the past, Mojang has chosen to launch Minecraft patches between 3pm BST and 9pm BST in the UK. This remains a prediction for now, and gamers should keep an eye on the official Mojang channels to receive the latest news.
Other changes are also being made to the world of Minecraft on June 7, with the development confirming that Starting June 7, all players that have either Java Edition or Bedrock Edition will receive the edition they do not currently own for free. Minecraft owners don’t need to do anything to claim this but might have to wait a couple of days for it to pop in their game launcher.
A message from Mojang adds: “To be clear, Java and Bedrock will remain separate games with their own distinctive features. The only difference is that now you get both by default when buying Minecraft for your Windows PC, and access them both from the same launcher.”
One of the most exciting parts of the new Minecraft Wild update is the Deep Dark Biome, which will be accessible to anyone who fancies digging their way into it. This new location will have its own unique features and creatures, including the shrieker, who has the power to summon a Deep Dark Mob with its fourth cry. For those not quite into exploring spooky spots on the map, the Wild update will also see the introduction of the new Mangrove Swamps. These will be filled with unique trees that offer a new type of wood to build with, and the new mud block, which can be crafted using dirt and water.
